  Alabama vs. Mississippi State

Coming off of the longest game in team history, the Crimson Tide traveled to Starkville Mississippi to face the Mississippi State Bulldogs and in a sort of statement game destroyed the Dogs 38-0. The game marked the final time that State coach Jackie Sherrill would coach against his alma mater. Alabama scored early and often in this contest. Zach Fletcher started off the scoring with an 86-yard completion from Brodie Croyle while ranked among the top 5 longest passes in Alabama history. Freshman Tyrone Prothro found the end zone for the first time in his young career with a 17-yard catch, again from Croyle. Croyle would add one more touchdown catch, this time his second pass to Fletcher for 32 yards. Shaud Williams and Tim Castille added rushing touchdowns in the 4th quarter to finish off the scoring. Brian Bostick also had a field goal in the game. The Crimson Tide finished the season 4-9 for head coach Mike Shula in his first season at the Capstone.
