  Alabama vs. LSU As always the Alabama defense held strong in this contest holding the Tigers to a mere 6 first downs and 145 yards of total offense leading the way for a 30-0 shutout victory. Calvin Culliver starting things off in the first with a 1 yard dive accross the goaline. Danny Ridgeway tacked on a 20 yard field goal in the second quarter to put the lead up to 10. Later in the quarter, Ricky Davis recovered a fumble and ran it back 29 yards for the score. Richard Todd ran it in from 3 yards out to cap the first half scoring sending the Tide into the lockeroom up 23-0. In the final quarter Alabama would tack on one final touchdown - a 2 yard rush by Jack O'Rear. The 1974 squad finished the season with a record of 11-1, as SEC champions, and with an appearence in the Orange Bowl for Coach Bryant.
