  Alabama vs. LSU In a hard fought contest, the Tide walked out of Baton Rouge with a 14-14 tie. Bama would score early in the first on a 33 yard Gene Jelks touchdown run. After giving up two Tiger touchdowns in the third to go down 14-7, Mike Shula would hit Jelks for a 2 yard touchdown reception with 1:24 remaining in the game to walk out with the tie. The 1985 squad finished the season with a record of 9-2-1 and with a victory in the Aloha Bowl for Ray Perkins.
