  Alabama vs. Auburn The Tide would cap the 1961 regular season by destroying the Tigers 34-0. Billy Richardson would score Bama's first points in the first on an 11 yard touchdown run. In the second, the Tide would score 17 points on a 1 yard Pat Trammell run, a Tim Davis field goal, and on a 19 yard Trammell touchdown pass to Richard Williamson to give Bama a 24-0 halftime lead. Richardson would visit the end zone again in the third on a 6 yard touchdown run, and Davis would close the Tide's scoring with a fourth quarter field goal. The 1961 squad finished with a record of 11-0, as SEC champions, and as national champions after a victory in the Sugar Bowl for Coach Bryant.
