  Alabama vs. UCLA Alabama closed the 1976 season with this 36-6 victory over the Bruins of UCLA in freezing temperatures at the Liberty Bowl in Memphis. Fred Berrey would open the scoring for the Tide with his 37 yard field goal in the first. Barry Krauss would then score on an interception returned 44 yards for a touchdown, and Johnny Lee Davis would follow with a 2 yard touchdown run to close the first quarter scoring. In the second, Tony Nathan would throw a 20 yard touchdown pass to Jack O'Rear on a trick play. In the second half, Berrey would hit a pair of field goals (25 and 28 yards) before Rick Watson would score Bama's final points on a 1 yard touchdown run in the fourth. This was Alabama's final win of the 1976 season, and the Tide finished the season with a record of 9-3 for Coach Bryant.
