  Alabama vs. Oklahoma The 1970 Bluebonnet Bowl brought together two of the nations greatest football programs, with the Crimson Tide and Sooners playing to a 24-24 tie in Houston's Astrodome. Alabama would draw the first blood by scoring on a 4 yard Scott Hunter touchdown pass to Randy Moore. In the second, Hunter would hit David Bailey for a 5 yard touchdown reception. In the third, Richard Ciemny would hit a 20 yard field goal, and Johnny Musso's 25 yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter from Hunter would give the Tide a 24-24 tie. This contest also marked the first time that Alabama had ever played a game indoors. The 1970 squad finished with a record of 6-5-1 along with a 24-24 tie in the Bluebonnet Bowl for coach Bryant.
