  Alabama vs. Houston Alabama simply dominated the game in all aspects against the Cougars winning convincingly 37-10. Bama had over 500 yards of total offense in the game. Five minutes into the game Andrew Zow connected with Shaun Alexander on a 25 yard score to put the Tide on top 7-0, and Ryan Pflugner added a field goal to close the quarter. Alexander scored the only points of the second quarter with his 17 yard touchdown run. Freddie Millions caught a Zow pass in the third quarter for a 19 yard touchdown. In the final quarter, Alabama scored twice. The first score an 8 yard run by Alexander and the second a 39 yard pass play from Zow to Terry Jones, Jr. The 1999 squad finished the season with a 10-3 record, as SEC champions, and with an appearence in the Orange Bowl for coach Mike Dubose.
