  Alabama vs. Southern California The Trojans jumped all over Alabama early and often to put the Tide in an early season hole losing by the score of 42-21. USC scored the first 15 points of the game on two touchdowns and a field goal. Bama got its only points of the first half in the second quarter on a 1 yard Johnny Musso run. Southern Cal led 21-7 going into halftime. They started where they left off in the second scoring on another field goal and touchdown to take the 31-7 lead. Then Neb Hayden threw for a 6 yard touchdown to David Bailey to put the tide back on the scoreboard. After two more USC scores Johnny Musso found the endzone again another 1 yard rush. The 1970 squad finished with a record of 6-5-1 along with a tie in the Bluebonnet Bowl for coach Bryant.
