  Alabama vs. UCLA For the first time since 1946, the Tide played in the Rose Bowl, but lost to the Bruins of UCLA 35-24. Freddie Milons opened the scoring for the Tide with his 71 yard punt return for a touchdown to open the game. In the second quarter, Ahmaad Galloway would visit the end zone with a 1 yard touchdown run, and Neal Thomas would hit a 38 yard field goal to end the first half scoring. Reggie Myles would close Alabama's scoring in the third with his 91 yard interception return for a touchdown. The 2000 squad would finish the season with a record of 3-8 in Mike Dubose's final season as head coach of the Tide.
