Chester Braggs would score first on a 1 yard plunge, and this was followed with a 13 yard Bobby Humphrey run. In the second, the Tide would score a pair of touchdowns again. Mike Shula would hit Thornton Chandler for a 13 yard touchdown reception, and this was followed with a 23 yard Al Bell run for a score. In the third, Shula would hit Humphrey for an 18 yard touchdown reception. After a 38 yard Van Tiffin field goal in the fourth, Gene Jelks would score Bama's final touchdown on a 2 yard run. The 1985 squad finished the season with a record of 9-2-1 and with a victory in the Aloha Bowl for Ray Perkins.
