An interception of a Gary Hollingsworth pass late in the fourth secured a 17-16 victory for the Bulldogs. Philip Doyle would hit field goals of 29, 26, and 47 yards in the contest. Bama's lone touchdown came in the second quarter on a 1 yard Robert Jones touchdown run. The 1990 squad finished with a record of 7-5 and with an appearance in the Fiesta Bowl in head coach Gene Stallings first season at the Capstone.
