  Alabama vs. Southwestern Louisiana The Crimson Tide had a great team coming out of the 1940 season and they showed it in this game as they defeated Southwestern Louisiana by the score of 42-6 in campus. Alabama dominated the play all game long as Paul Spencer scored two touchdowns while James Nelson, Don Salls, David Brown, Joe Chorba, and Louie Scales all scored one. The 1941 squad finished the season 9-2 as National Champions after a victory in the Cotton Bowl for Coach Thomas.
