  Alabama vs. Tulane In a game marred by a horrible driving rain the Crimson Tide managed to defeat the Green Wave of Tulane 7-6 in front of the largest crowd ever to see a game in the Southeastern Conference to that point. Harry Gilmer would lead the Tide to victory as a result of his running ability. Hal Self would score the only touchdown of the game off of a short run. Hugh Morrow's extra point proved to be the difference. Jim Grantham also blocked 2 punts in the game. The 1946 squad finished the season 7-4 for coach Frank Thomas in his final season at the Capstone.
