  Alabama vs. Tulane The Green Wave of Tulane was no match for a tough Crimson Tide team as the Tide defeated Tulane easily 28-0. The Green Wave was held to just 4 total first downs and only 99 yard of total offense. Joe Namath scored his first rushing touchdown of the year on a 1 yard run in the first quarter. In the second Benny Nelson scored on a 33 yard run, and later in the quarter Billy Piper intercepted a Tulane pass and ran it back 51 yards for the 21-0 lead at halftime. Hudson Harris scored on a 20 yard rush in the third quarter to provide the final points of the game. The 1963 squad finished with a record of 9-2 with a victory in the Sugar Bowl over Mississippi for Coach Bryant.
