In the first, Bama would score on a 25 yard Gary Hollingsworth touchdown pass to Kevin Turner, on a 1 yard touchdown run by Robert Jones, on a 12 yard Martin Houston touchdown run, on a 19 yard Philip Doyle field goal, and on a blocked punt that was recovered by Antonio Langham for a touchdown. In the second, the Tide would score on a 7 yard Junior Sewell touchdown run, on a 6 yard Danny Woodson touchdown run, and on a 1 yard Jones touchdown plunge. Bama would close their scoring in the third with a 77 yard Tarrant Lynch touchdown run. The 1990 squad finished with a record of 7-5 and with an appearance in the Fiesta Bowl in head coach Gene Stallings first season at the Capstone.
