  Score: 24-14
Alabama vs. Tulane Alabama came into New Orleans as the underdog and left victorious after defeating the Green Wave 24-14. This was just not Tulane's game from the start after they fumbled the ball early on their own 35 in the first that would lead to Ed Salem's two yard touchdown run. Salem struck again on a 35 yard pass to Al Lary, the first of 2 touchdown connections the pair made in the game. In the third, Butch Avinger passed 6 yards to Lary and Salem and Lary connected for their second score of the contest. Both of the Tulane scores came in the second half but by then it were too late to defeat the very determined Crimson Tide. The 1950 squad would finish the season with a record of 9-2 for Coach Red Drew.
