  Alabama vs. Georgia After losing a heartbreaker to Arkansas the Alabama Crimson Tide headed into Athens Georgia on a mission to get back into the national spotlight. They did just that shutting out SEC power Georgia 31-0. Georgia was shutout despite having 15 first downs in the game. The scoring started off with a 21 yard chip shot by Michael Proctor. Then in the second quarter Bama's defense and special teams took over. Cedric Samuel returned a fumble 25 yards for the first touchdown of the day, and Deshea Townsend took a blocked field goal back 90 yards to give Alabama a 17-0 lead. The first and only offensive touchdown came in the fourth quarter when Dennis Riddle ran for a 12 yard touchdown. With just under two minutes remaining in the game Kevin Jackson returned an interception 26 yards to end the scoring. The 1995 squad finished the season with an 8-3 record for coach Gene Stallings.
