  Alabama vs. Oklahoma

After an impressive win to open the season Alabama hosted #1 ranked Oklahoma in Tuscaloosa and while the Tide gave the Sooners their toughest challenge of the season still fell 20-13. The game marked the first time an opponent came to Tuscaloosa as the number 1 ranked team. Oklahoma hit 2 field goals in the first quarter to start off the scoring but Bama answered back in the second quarter with a Brian Bostick 44 yard field goal to bring the lead back down to 3. However just 1 minute later Oklahoma connected on a 46-yard touchdown to give the Sooners a 13-3 halftime advantage. Alabama answered back in the third quarter when Brodie Croyle hit Triandos Luke on a 20-yard touchdown pass to cut the lead to just 3 points. Alabamas defense held on the ensuing Oklahoma possession for a 4th down and 11 deep inside their own territory but Oklahoma called a trick fake punt that caught the defense totally off guard for 22 yard and a first down. The very next play Oklahomas Jason White hit his second big touchdown of the night, this one a 47-yard completion to seal the victory. Bostick did his a 36-yard field goal late in the game but by then it was too late. The 2003 Crimson Tide finished the season 4-9 for head coach Mike Shula in his first season at the Capstone.
