The Paul W. Bryant Museum is proud to once again be a participant in the Blue Star Museums summer program. Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to the nation’s active duty military personnel including National Guard and Reserve and their families from Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 18, 2019, through Labor Day, Monday, September 2, 2019.

The Bryant Museum also extends this courtesy to all Veteran’s in appreciation of their past service.

100th Birthday Celebration for Dr. Don Salls

The Bryant Museum will host a celebration of Don Salls 100th birthday Monday June 24 from 2-5PM in the museum exhibit hall. The public is invited and admission will be free during the event.

Salls played football for the University of Alabama from 1938-1941. He served as an officer in the US Army during WW II and earned a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. After receiving his master’s degree from Alabama, be become the head football coach at Jacksonville State University for 19 years. While coaching he earned a PhD from New York University.  He is an author and taught for many years after retiring from coaching.
