The Birmingham A.C defeated the Cadets of Alabama by the unusual score of 4-5 at Birmingham's Lakeview Park. In those days a touchdown was worth 4 points, the extra point was worth 2 points, and a field goal was worth five points. Alabama scored the first touchdown and led until the final minutes when Birmingham A.C. dropped kicked a 63 yard field goal late in the game to beat Alabama. The inaugural team was coached by E.B. Beaumont and finished with a record of 2-2.
